The company, founded with the goal of providing "affordable data security for the masses," said the guide includes a breakdown of all PCI DSS requirements with related tips from Qualified Security Assessors, an overview of newly released PCI supplements, details on recent forensic investigation findings and PCI trends, and best practices to protect data from future attacks.
"No matter the advances in cyber security technology and increased government cyber security initiatives and regulations, attackers continue stealing unprotected payment card data," the guide states. "Some organizations have simple, easy-to-correct issues that create vulnerabilities that lead to data breaches. In other instances, organizations with intricate IT defenses and processes are overridden by an employee opening a phishing email."
The guide was designed to addres "the most problematic issues within the 12 PCI DSS requirements, including auditor’s best practices and IT checklists," the authors further stated. "Rather than reading this guide cover to cover, we recommend using this as a resource for your PCI compliance efforts."
