Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Apriva LLC recently launched a streamlined version of its AprivaPay mobile payment application. The new AprivaPay Plus app offers brick-and-mortar and mobile merchants a secure solution for accepting and tracking both cash and credit card payments.
It's also compatible with Apple Inc. iOS and Google Inc. Android smart phone and tablet devices, the company noted.
"AprivaPay Plus is the latest iteration of our AprivaPay application and has been designed from the ground up with specific merchants in mind," said Stacey Finley Tappin, Apriva Vice President of Sales and Marketing. The application supports up to 10 active devices per account, making it suitable for businesses that operate with multiple field representatives.
"This new and lighter application offers many advanced features and functionalities that are important to small businesses, such as inventory items, photos and enhanced reporting tools that enable our reseller channels to be more competitive in the marketplace," Tappin said.
Designed to be user-friendly and particularly useful to small and midsize merchants, the app's interface delivers such features as sales tax and tip settings; the ability to group inventory items and set prices, with item descriptions and photos; an integrated search feature for transaction retrieval; transaction history tracking and reporting capabilities; bar code scanning; and an encrypted card reader.
Merchants also have the option to print paper receipts or auto-send receipts directly.
According to Apriva, because the application supports an encrypted card reader, it prevents other applications from accessing personal and card information on the device. Another critical layer of protection with this application is that all transaction data is stored securely in the cloud-based Apriva Payment Gateway, the company stated.
"Many small businesses are seeing firsthand that consumers are using credit and debit cards for both large- and small-ticket purchases, and accepting card payments has become a necessity in order to grow their businesses," said Bill Ramsey, Apriva Vice President and General Manager for Mobile Payments.
