linked2pay adds GPS

P

owered by transmodus, the latest iteration of the linked2pay mobile application allows merchants to capitalize on a built-in global positioning system to facilitate mobile workforces. Through the app's GPS system, merchants can now track and monitor the exact location and time of arrival for each field representative who makes a delivery or performs work off premises, according to transmodus.

With "one click" payment acceptance, the app makes it convenient for field sales personnel to process transactions securely with their iOS or Android mobile devices in hand, the company said. In addition, linked2pay is a cloud-based, bundled solutions platform that combines mobile, online forms, email and a virtual terminal for acceptance of credit card and automated clearing house (ACH) transactions.

"I do most of my business in the field, at schools, interacting with students and parents," said Matt Baltes of Memory Products, who is involved in school yearbook sales. "Before I found linked2pay, the tools available to me for accepting payments could not fit my needs." He said with linked2pay he was able to add team members to his account to maximize mobile sales efficiency, and access to reports and other options have made it possible to conduct person-to-person transactions with multiple students and parents in a more efficient manner.

To process payments via linked2pay:

  • Field sales representative touches map pin on app
  • App retrieves amount and specified data
  • Option to add tip, swipe card, process ACH transaction
  • Customer authorizes and signs on screen, signature stored
  • App sends email receipt to customer, updates merchant's system
"The simple processing of payments has long been a challenge for anyone in the mobile workforce," said Jay McShirley, Chief Executive Officer of transmodus. "Our approach delivers the user-friendly and secure solution that has been lacking." Merchants pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited users per merchant account, transmodus reported.

The certified linked2pay gateway connections include Vantiv, Total System Services Inc., Authorize.Net, First Data Corp., among others. "We currently support Level 2 PCI compliance with a Level 3 project underway," transmodus stated. "Our certified payment types include e-commerce, MO/TO, and retail (mobile)."
