Safe transactions even on third-party websites

Semafone, a leading provider of data security and compliance solutions, added SecureWeb+ to its technology suite. The solution is designed to mitigate risk while providing a frictionless customer experience by enabling merchants to securely process payment card and sensitive data across multiple channels, the company stated.

Gary E. Barnett, chief executive officer at Semafone, stated the new solution extends payment capabilities for service providers, securing payments on third-party merchant websites and CRMs without compromising PCI DSS compliance.

Barnett pointed out that Semafone SecureWeb+ adds value by enabling agents to utilize different web applications to upsell and cross sell, adding more value to each transaction. In addition, the solution enables outsourced service providers (OSPs) and business process outsourcers (BPOs) to complete payment interactions seamlessly and securely, improving the customer experience.

"Cost effective and complete PCI DSS compliance is a challenge for OSPs and BPOs, as they frequently have to toggle between different technology and payment service providers (PSPs)," Barnett said. "Semafone SecureWeb+ is ideal for anyone handling multiple CRM and integration touch points or seeking to initiate short term integrations and engagements like seasonal demand."

Barnett went on to say that fast, simple and secure third-party integrations can help enterprises get affiliations and supplier relationships up and running as quickly as possible. Similarly, organizations that act as service providers need to demonstrate a strong security stance in relation to information and payments collected for their commercial partners; this applies to all kinds of companies, including those that handle a range of travel bookings and services and insurance companies that pay to register or update policy holders, he added.

Barnett further noted that Semafone SecureWeb+ is an extension of Semafone's Cardprotect Voice+. He added that the solution enables outsourcing partners to complete payments in a secure and PCI-compliant manner on any merchant's website. The solution also eliminates the need to store sensitive data, he said. Semafone's Cardprotect Voice+ uses dual-tone multifrequency (DTMF) masking to shield payment information from auditory call and screen recordings, and when combined with Semafone SecureWeb+, consumer data is neither seen nor heard by the agent.

Semafone noted that SecureWeb+ is ideal for organizations looking for a quick, customizable implementation and is designed to initiate and strengthen customer relations. Semafone SecureWeb+ users can configure as many third-party websites as needed for successful business operations, as well as virtually every payment PSP.
