Pushpay, a payments and engagement provider to the U.S. faith sector, created ChurchStaq, a technology suite designed to help churches grow and scale. The solution includes a church management system (ChMS), mobile app, donor engagement tools and giving platform to help churches of all sizes connect across different ministry touch points, the company stated.
Aaron Senneff, chief technology officer at Pushpay, has observed that churches work hard to drive participation and stay connected with their congregations. "Our combined solutions enhance connections across all aspects of the Church," he said, adding that church administrators can use the solution to access the data and information they need to engage with people.
Senneff additionally noted that faith-based institutions have traditionally been slower to adopt new technology, and their legacy systems are not optimized to meet their growing need, especially in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape. Pushpay works to change that, he said, by creating solutions that drive generosity while reducing administrative burdens.
Senneff noted that one of the biggest pain points for churches and nonprofits is the manual processes needed to import and export data from different tools needed to create reports or view trends in their organization. ChurchStaq's fully integrated suite brings data together in one place, making it easy to create reports, view trends and act on insights, he added.
ChurchStaq delivers integrated tools to help streamline ministry management, delivering an online giving solution, mobile applications, church management system and live streaming, according to Pushpay representatives, who pointed out the company's integrated technology ensures data is in sync and accessible across all platforms.
Ministries can use ChurchStaq to generate year-end reports, gain insights and enhance community involvement, church services and group management, they added, citing the following key features:
ChurchStaq user Jim White, senior pastor at First United Methodist Church in Palmdale, Calif., recalled launching the Pushpay App about a year before the pandemic, having no idea how important it would become for communicating the church's mission and ministry in the years to follow. "It has become our primary means of communication to our community," he said. "We have everything from our livestream, to giving, small group sign ups, and prayer concerns—all being shared within our app."
Pushpay's ChurchStaq also enables users to view online content in Spanish, including the digital giving experience, Lead app content and more. Its multilingual capabilities have been a game changer, according to Tim Hill, executive pastor at Bear Creek Baptist Church.
"Offering services and technology in Spanish allows many people from our online community to still fully engage and give and support the ministry, which in turn allows us to continue to offer services in Spanish," Hill said. "For us, the technology has been a huge value."
Hill noted that Bear Creek Baptist Church launched its first Spanish language worship service in 2014 with an Easter service which attracted 60 attendees. Today, the church has more than 400 families and individuals that worship at its Spanish service at any given time.
As Pushpay continues to expand its bilingual options, the company affirmed it is working towards translating its products into Vietnamese, Korean, and traditional Chinese.
