At press time, Thanksgiving is almost here. Some home chefs enjoy cooking the same dishes every year for appreciative family and friends; others mix it up, combining traditional favorites with new culinary delights. There are those who like their turkey served around a restaurant table, with a waiter pouring wine for those who imbibe. Some who have grown tired of cooking turkey year after year order-in foods traditionally served in far-off lands.
There are as many ways to celebrate this day as there are families and groups of friends observing it. But talk at most such gatherings at least touches on what people are thankful for. And some families express thanks for the businesses they are working together, passing on knowledge and opportunity from generation to generation.
