Product: TouchBistro 7.0
Company: TouchBistro
TouchBistro, a payment technology company with offices in New York and Toronto, released a new version of its iPad-based POS app for restaurants and bars. Provisioned for the larger 12.9 inch iPad Pro screen, TouchBistro 7.0 is 78 percent larger than the iPad Air 2, 9.7 inch display. The solution will be marketed in the Apple App Store beginning January 2016 as a fast and efficient order entry platform.
The iPad Pro screen also offers the highest resolution (5.6 million pixels) of any iOS device, the company stated. When deployed tableside or at waiter stations, the larger screen and higher-resolution TouchBistro 7.0 will provide a POS system that is easier to read and delivers more detailed information while reducing the need for scrolling. Wait staff who are accustomed to larger screens of traditional legacy POS systems may also be more receptive to the larger screen format, TouchBistro added.
"TouchBistro 7.0 takes advantage of the speed and technological advances in the iPad Pro and makes them accessible to restaurants and bars in a truly innovative POS solution that is designed to be used as the heart and operating system of food service operations of all sizes," said Alex Barrotti, Chief Executive Officer and founder of TouchBistro. "With waiter conveniences like an optional right- or left-hand interface, to major features like unlimited menus and floor plans, to accepting payments of all kinds including digital and EMV chip and PIN cards, TouchBistro is committed to engineering the best technology into an affordable, easy-to-use and flexible package that provides the exact functionality a flourishing restaurant needs."
TouchBistro 7.0 is designed to support unlimited menus and bigger floor plans for larger restaurants. The solution is also compatible with smaller iPads, the company said. For example, wait staff can use it on the iPad Mini for mobile tableside ordering and payment processing.
Restaurateurs and bar managers can choose from an array of iPad POS system configurations from TouchBistro to support operations and customer service according to their individual preferences.
TouchBistro is also expanding its suite of products with the introduction of its new Kitchen Display System (KDS), Customer Facing Display (CFD) and Menu App. The KDS aims to improve restaurant efficiency by displaying orders that have been electronically entered at the waiter station or table-side and received wirelessly on an iPad installed in the kitchen. This will reduce the cost of printed chits while helping to maintain a less cluttered, more coordinated kitchen prep area for multiple chefs and prep staff, TouchBistro noted.
Restaurant patrons can use the iPad TouchBistro CFD to review and order menu items and pricing. The CFD can also be deployed in Quick Serve Restaurants for self-service ordering at the counter.
TouchBistro's suite of products can be customized for a range of hospitality establishments. Solutions include Restaurant POS, Coffee Shop POS, Quick Service POS, Bar POS, Food Truck POS, Pizza POS, Stadium POS, Food Chain POS and a Brewery iPad POS System. The free, built-in Menu App enables restaurateurs to showcase menus, wine lists and special offerings in full color with detailed descriptions and photographs.
"TouchBistro users can depend on us to continually deliver the functionality they need, using the best and latest technology as it becomes available, in an intuitive format," Barrotti said. TouchBistro is an affordable replacement for dated POS systems and long expensive contracts, and without the expensive upfront costs for proprietary hardware."
The company was named Best POS System for Restaurants by Business News Daily in its annual review of dozens of POS systems and International App of the Year 2015 by Best in Biz Awards.
