Have
you ever had one of those days when you feel that all your peers are doing
better than you are, you’re the only person who isn’t a phenomenal
success, and you just know that you’re not going to make it in this
business?
When
you are feeling this way, you need a new perspective and your peers can
help. Talk to them! Share your frustrations and less than successful sales
stories. Don’t worry about appearing ignorant or stupid. This is your
chance to learn from the experience (and failures) of your colleagues.
When
you talk with others and learn about the challenges they’ve faced and
their less than perfect closing records, you will see that you are not the
failure you thought you were. Other sales professionals have problem
accounts and prospects that they just can’t seem to close, too. You
won’t enjoy a career of 100% success and smooth sailing, but that’s OK
because no one does.
Sharing
your fears and frustrations can be a source of invaluable education.
Everyone involved can learn new ways to approach prospects and handle
challenging situations. We are all in the same boat and we need to extend
a life preserver when our colleagues are floundering. Some day, we will
need a life preserver too!
