CrossCheck,Inc.,
has added a new program to their services, Flat Fee Warranty. The Flat Fee
Warranty is a stand-alone program that covers merchants’ monthly
returned check losses. J. David Siembieda, Executive Vice President of
Sales and Marketing for CrossCheck said, “Flat Fee Warranty differs from
our standard guarantee service in that merchants don’t have to call in
checks or run them through authorization equipment. Merchants simply mail
us their returned checks, and we reimburse them.” Checks
are automatically approved and when returned from the bank unpaid, they
are sent to CrossCheck for processing. Merchants pay a fee, based on their
expected monthly loss, for coverage of those returned checks. There is no
equipment to purchase and merchants avoid the situation of having to tell
a customer the check has been declined. For
