Awarded
Hypercom
Corporation has been awarded Business Communications Review’s “Best Managed
Integrated Access Device” (IAD) Award for its Integrated Enterprise Network (IEN)
6000. The journal reports that Hypercom’s IEN 6000 demonstrates unequaled
support of data, voice, and point-of-sale (POS) devices and allows for
centralization and compartmentalization of high volumes of traffic from a
combination of WAN protocols including Frame Relay and IP. Hypercom’s IEN 6000
was also recognized for its
•
multi-protocol networking capabilities,
•
sensitivity to bandwidth required by individual data transmissions, and
•
ability to provide voice compression options to maximize throughput and
efficiency.
Business
Communications Review’s award was based on research and tests conducted by Mier
Communications, a network consultancy and product test-center. Hypercom’s
IEN 6000 was chosen over eight other tested systems. The enabling technology
behind the IEN 6000 is Hypercom’s IENView, which supports data, point-of-sale,
and integrated voice solutions.
“The
Mier test results showcased the strong data and voice convergence capabilities
that our multi-service IAD solution provides,” said Salvador Alvarez, Vice
President of Business Development, Hypercom Network Systems Division. “The
results attest to the maturity of our product line which dates back to 1995 when
our first data and voice solution was introduced.”
Hypercom Network Systems, a division of Hypercom
Corporation, designs and manufactures multi-service IAD solutions capable of
supporting data and voice over a single WAN or LAN transport connection. Some of
the key integrated capabilities include VoFR, VoIP, analog & digital voice,
router/bridge, VPN, POS networking support, and legacy protocol support. For
