Certification demand rises as telehealth expands into new care areas and providers look to compliance to support growth

PORTLAND, Ore. – Sept. 22, 2026 – LegitScript, the leader in merchant and product certification and monitoring in the advertising, e-commerce, and payment sectors, today announced continued momentum across its certification program as behavioral health, telehealth, and other areas of digital healthcare continue to grow and evolve.

Over the past year, LegitScript has seen a 59% increase in certification applications overall and a 101% increase in telemedicine applications specifically. The growth comes as telehealth has expanded into a much broader ecosystem of providers, infrastructure platforms, and specialty healthcare companies, creating new ways for businesses to reach patients and grow.

That demand is translating into continued certification growth, with total certifications up 43% over the past year and telemedicine certifications up 80%. LegitScript also recently surpassed 10,000 certified websites across healthcare, addiction treatment, and other highly regulated industries.

Telehealth is also expanding the types of care that can be delivered virtually, with behavioral health offering one example of how care models are changing. LegitScript has seen that growth firsthand, with Addiction Treatment Certifications up 80%. Mental health providers are adding substance use disorder treatment services, substance use disorder treatment providers are expanding into broader behavioral health, and new models are emerging to address both. That is happening alongside significant growth in the broader behavioral health market, which is projected to grow from $185.03 billion in 2025 to $332.77 billion by 2034.
