FBT Gibbons Adds Senior Wells Fargo In-House Litigator Geoff Beckham in San Francisco

Former in-house counsel further advances firm’s strategic growth in California and expands financial services and litigation capabilities

August 12, 2026 – FBT Gibbons has added Geoff Beckham as a partner in its San Francisco office and Business & Commercial Litigation practice group, further advancing the firm’s strategic growth in California and expanding its ability to represent financial institutions in complex litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.

Beckham joins FBT Gibbons from Wells Fargo, where he served as a senior in-house litigator handling disputes involving the company’s brokerage and financial services businesses. He managed complex litigation and arbitration matters, worked closely with business, legal, compliance, and risk teams, and oversaw outside counsel across significant disputes.

“Geoff’s experience fits naturally with the team we are building,” said Peter Cummins, leader of FBT Gibbons’ Business Litigation practice group. “He brings significant litigation experience both as an in-house attorney and outside counsel, a deep understanding of the retail financial services industry in which many of our clients operate, and firsthand knowledge of how in-house teams operate. That combination will help us connect our litigation capabilities even more closely with the broader work we do for financial services clients.”

At FBT Gibbons, Beckham will advise banks, broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, and other financial services companies in litigation, arbitration, regulatory matters, and internal investigations. His experience includes matters before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and in state and federal courts.

“After years in-house, I wanted to bring what I had learned back to private practice and use it on behalf of more clients,” said Beckham. “The team FBT Gibbons is continuing to build in California, together with its national financial services experience, made this the right move.”

Beckham is the fourth partner to join FBT Gibbons in California this year, following the additions of Mark Ross and Kristin Yokomoto in Newport Beach and Jeffrey Wortman in Los Angeles. Their practices span business litigation, private wealth, and labor and employment, reflecting the firm’s continued investment in experienced talent and capabilities across the state.
