assist them with the transition to the
new EMV cards and readers. Many
merchants will need to replace their
terminals so they can take advantage
of the upcoming liability shift.

In order to help facilitate this,
Signature Card Services a provider
of payment processing services,
launched a new online store that
features low-cost EMV-capable
terminals for retail merchants.

The store offers discounted terminals
to support the transition to processing
chip-based credit cards. With the
deadline for EMV implementation
approaching, providing merchants
affordable equipment and training
has become an important initiative
for Signature Card Services in
helping to prepare merchants for this
change, the company noted.

While a variety of EMV terminals
will be available at highly discounted
rates, Signature Card Services is also
offering the terminals for free with
the activation of a new merchant
account. In addition, the company
reported it is also providing valuable
education on how to use and derive
optimum benefit from the terminals.
