Brandable merchant hub automates invoicing, subscription billing

Carson City, Nev.-based OmniMerchant launched a cloud-based accounting automation platform. OmniMerchant is a processor-agnostic solution, designed to enhance subscription-based payments and recurring billing services. Independent software vendors, value-added resellers, ISOs and merchant level salespeople can brand and customize the platform to increase customer residuals, acquire new clients and diversify their merchant portfolios, according to OmniMerchant co-founders Michael Segura and Matt Dubois.

"Whether they grow organically or through acquisition, merchants frequently acquire multiple payment gateways, CRMs and accounting processes," Segura said. Multiple channels, single-access view

OmniMerchant's web software connects enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, payment gateways and customer relationship management systems (CRMs). Its wizard-driven installation is fast and thorough, according to Dubois, who said setup takes approximately seven steps and seven minutes. Once installed, the system provides a real-time, single-access view to inventory levels, shopping cart activities, batch accounting functions and accounting systems, he added.

Following are additional platform features the company described:

  • Automated subscription, billing and invoice management: Merchants can customize the platform by building rules-based recurring billing models and schedules. They can set up and manage multiple billing models, including free trials and single billing functions.
  • Real-time synchronization and auto-reconciliation: Merchants can replace cumbersome batch processing entries from different departments, solving accounting redundancy issues and freeing up valuable time and resources.
  • Enhanced, all-in-one reporting: Merchants can use OmniMerchant reporting tools to generate birds-eye view reports from a variety of payment sources. Users can create insightful reports with just a few clicks.

Multiple platforms, seamless integration

OmniMerchant facilitates real-time accounting reconciliation by integrating and synchronizing multiple platforms across a merchant's enterprise, including the following: Payment gateways: OmniMerchant's growing list of gateway partners includes NMI, PayPal, Stripe, PayTrace and Authorize.Net.

  • ERP systems: OmniMerchant syncs to ERP systems, enabling merchants to automate accounting reconciliation from multiple payment sources. OmniMerchant is compatible with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Freshbooks. The company's near-term gateway integration roadmap includes Priority Payment Systems, QuickBooks Payments, USAePay, Amazon Pay, CyberSource Corp. and Braintree.
  • CRM systems: OmniMerchant is designed to synchronize with leading customer relationship management systems. Its growing list of CRM integrations includes MailChimp, Zapier, SendGrid, AWeber and Constant Contact.
  • Shopping carts: OmniMerchant can seamlessly integrate multiple shopping carts, including Magento and Shopify, to facilitate real-time relationship and inventory management.
  • API library: OmniMerchant's REST API and software development kits enable software developers to adapt, customize and embed the software in proprietary systems and networks.
