End-to-end restaurant solution drives efficiencies, engagement

Product: SpotOn Restaurant
Company: SpotOn

SpotOn has launched SpotOn Restaurant, a hardware and software solution designed to help restaurateurs boost profits, improve efficiencies and engage with customers. The solution's technology suite includes marketing tools that provide small and midsize merchants with access to payment processing, marketing, online reviews, loyalty and customer analytics. These combined critical assets can help all types of restaurant categories improve customer engagement and expand their brand presence, company representatives stated.

"Whether you operate a fine dining restaurant, quick-serve restaurant, bar, nightclub, multilocation chain or franchise, SpotOn Restaurant can help you reach customers in unique ways," said RJ Horsley, president of SpotOn. "Our talented team knows the restaurant vertical backwards and forwards, from product to back-end reporting, and constantly updates our technology to help businesses in all categories grow revenue."

Cloud-based, intuitive software

SpotOn Restaurant is designed to be simple, fast and flexible, Horsley noted, adding that its cloud-based technology facilitates a range of business tasks, including the following:

  • Payment processing: Compatible with numerous payment methods, SpotOn Restaurant includes tools to track multiple tables and orders, split tickets and issue and process gift cards.
  • Online ordering, pay-at-table: SpotOn Restaurant supports all types of ordering, from takeout and delivery services to customized catering orders and on-site pay-at-table options.
  • Resource, inventory management: Built-in inventory and employee management tools capabilities can simplify inventory updating, employee shift and delivery driver scheduling.
  • Enhanced, customizable reporting: Advanced analytics provide transactional data and performance metrics to help restaurant managers improve efficiencies, assess marketing campaign effectiveness and create data-driven reports, insights, guidance, alerts and charts.
  • Business software integration: SpotOn Restaurant's POS data can be integrated with business management software such as QuickBooks, PeachWorks and payroll applications.
  • Intuitive user interface: SpotOn Restaurant's simplified touchscreen interface requires minimal staff training, enabling employees to clock in, track tables, customize orders, monitor stations in real time, process payments and print receipts.
  • Back-end operation management: Cloud-based management features, accessible from any POS station or connected device, provide managers with a view of in-house and online operations.

Multiple hardware options

SpotOn will help restaurants optimize operations by configuring workstations, kitchen displays and printers according to their individual requirements. Horsley pointed out that there are no upfront costs or long-term commitments associated with purchasing or leasing equipment.

"SpotOn's customer engagement tools are included with all hardware configurations," he said. "From a hardware perspective, our single platform fee has enabled SpotOn partners to come up with best-in-class solutions for merchants."

Horsley further noted that each restaurant is unique, which is why SpotOn offers a variety of hardware choices. SpotOn customer engagement tools are compatible with existing POS hardware, such as Verifone Carbon and Poynt, and SpotOn Restaurant, a purpose-built solution with touchscreen POS, cash register, external card reader, barcode scanner and printer.

Improve customer loyalty, engagement

SpotOn's cloud-based core suite of customer engagement tools, designed to increase customer loyalty, are continuously updated, Horsley said. Readily available on SpotOn's secure merchant dashboard, the tools help merchants create a consistent communication strategy.

Following are examples he mentioned:

  • Marketing campaigns: Merchants can connect with customers via email, social media and mobile alerts. These campaigns can be automated to boost online review scores and reach different market segments.
  • Customized loyalty programs: Merchants can create incentives for customers to return to their restaurants. These programs can be integrated with the POS and checkout processes.
  • Reputational review management: Merchants can monitor and manage online reviews on sites like Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Foursquare, using the SpotOn dashboard's single access view.
  • Customer database management: Merchants can import existing databases to the SpotOn platform and continue to collect customer email addresses.
  • Social media outreach: Merchants can communicate and send opt-in mobile alerts to customers via Facebook, Twitter and other social media.
  • Campaign wizard: Merchants can use the platform's built-in campaign generation tools to send targeted and time-sensitive messages quickly to their customers.
