Product: VeaaHub
Company: Veaa Inc.
Veaa Inc. launched VeaaHub, a smart Wi-Fi platform designed to provide merchants with secure connectivity and real-time tools. Merchants can use the cloud-based subscription service to engage with customers, manage inventories and monitor Internet of Things (IoT) devices in a single location or across an enterprise, the company stated. In addition to supporting existing Wi-Fi access points, Bluetooth and numerous communications protocols, the platform can extend the wireless range of all networked devices. Its 4G failover capability keeps payments and POS systems always on and always connected, company representatives stated.
"Veea redefines the traditional perception of the edge," said Shan Ethridge, senior vice president, global sales at Veaa Inc. "It provides application platforms that dramatically change the economics and efficiency of delivering edge computing solutions."
Evan Sohn, vice president, sales at Veaa, concurred, saying, "What we've done with Wi-Fi is similar to what Apple did with the phone. We created smart Wi-Fi with a built-in app store within a single device."
Sohn additionally noted that VeeaHub's four models range from small to midsize business to commercial-grade solutions, enabling merchants of all sizes to deploy secure, private and scalable Wi-Fi. Merchants can reduce costs and have more control of their data by bringing Wi-Fi in house, he noted.
Sohn went on to say that the always-on VeeaHub platform is easy to set up, with multiple provisioning and configuration options. In addition to its flexible, interoperable design, the platform's built-in app store and control centers meet the highest security standards.
The VeeaHub App Store provides downloadable apps and a software development kit for creating customized apps. The app store's highly secure enrollment system uses encryption, authentication, continuous monitoring and a LAN/IoT firewall to protect against wireless intrusion.
The platform's VeeaHub Device Manager enables users to configure and provision networked devices. Enterprises can use the VeeaHub Control Center to deploy, configure and manage multiple VeeaHubs either locally or remotely. This enables merchants with multiple locations to provide continuous coverage and performance in a building, campus or entire city.
Ethridge pointed out that VeeaHub's edge application platform and mesh capabilities have been optimized for the increasingly populous IoT. Business owners can capture and process data from the edge of their networks on VeeaHub without being entirely dependent on cloud-based systems, he stated.
"VeeaHub is ideal for mission-critical applications that require low latency, high reliability or are entirely dependent on cloud-based systems," Ethridge said. "It protects on-premise applications by providing data security, privacy and compliance, while filtering, scrubbing and maintaining sensitive data."
Efficiently processing data at the edge, before data is even sent to the cloud, enables VeeaHub to enhance communications and interoperability of both legacy mechanical/industrial machines and next-gen IoT devices, Ethridge stated. "These enhanced efficiencies can reduce application downtime and eliminate failure points that typically occur in remote deployments," he said. "By providing a single access point to multiple remote installations, VeeaHub can improve network coverage connectivity and control while increasing flexibility in the way that cloud resources are utilized."
