Boost customer retention with professional payroll services

Product: Simpay Payroll Services
Company: Simpay

Simpay, a business solutions provider and merchant acquirer, created Simpay Payroll Services, a multifaceted program designed to simplify and improve payroll process efficiencies for merchants of all sizes and in numerous industries. The company's experienced payroll specialists work closely with merchants to customize a payroll process that addresses their unique requirements, according to Simpay representatives.

"We work hand-in-hand with merchants to ensure employees are accurately compensated, and that taxing authorities receive the monies and documents they require," said Robert Heinrich, vice president of sales at Simpay. "Our team helps merchants manage deductions, benefits and direct deposit accounts while receiving the detailed reports they need to run their businesses."

Simpay provides the same hand-in-hand support to participating agents, Heinrich noted, even those who would prefer not to learn about a new product or service. "You don't have to be an expert to sell this product," he said. "It takes less than an hour to learn and even less time to get merchants to sign up. Merchant level salespeople [MLSs] can educate existing customers about payroll services and even give the service away to their more profitable merchant partners."

Vertically focused

Heinrich further explained that each industry has unique payroll requirements. For example, managers of restaurant employee payrolls have specific and detailed guidelines to follow, which include how to handle tip allowances, hourly wages, meals and other compensation. These requirements apply to quick service, fast casual, casual and fine dining restaurants alike, he stated.

"We will customize a payroll process to for each restaurant," he said. "When restaurant owners choose Simpay to manage their payroll, they can use a single sign-on portal to manage federal, state and local taxes, numerous detailed reports and an advanced and highly secure technology platform."

Simpay also provides tailored payroll solutions for retail, salons, healthcare providers, auto repair shops, grocery stores and lodging and hospitality merchants, Heinrich stated. Additional optional services include online 401k plan management tools, employee background screening and time and attendance solutions, pay-as-you-go worker's compensation plans and HR support tools, Heinrich stated. These products and services can be integrated with POS systems, payment processing, customer relationship management programs, QuickBooks and other accounting software.

Dedicated support

Simpay, a registered member of the American Payroll Association and the Independent Payroll Processors Association, provides ongoing support to participating agents, referral partners and their enrolled merchants, Heinrich stated.

"Each merchant has a dedicated relationship manager, from onboarding to inputting the customized data to ensure the merchant is making payroll," he said. "Merchants who work with larger payroll service providers don't have a single point of contact; when they need support, they usually have to contact a call center."

Heinrich noted that MLSs who have been in the payments industry for 10 to 15 years may initially think that it's difficult to learn a new product or service; however, in the face of increasing margin compression, many industry veterans have found it surprisingly easy to recommend payroll services to their current customers. You don't have to know how to run a payroll to sell payroll, he added. end of article
