Judopay, a processor-agnostic enabler of mobile web and in-app payment acceptance, created JudoAccept, a technology solution that uses QR code to facilitate touchless commerce. JudoAccept works on smartphones, tablets and other connected devices, eliminating the need for costly hardware peripherals, company representatives stated. Jumaane Hutchinson, head of products at Judopay, mentioned that Judopay works with partners and payment card brands, including Mastercard, Discover Global Network and Visa, to enhance the merchant and customer experience.

Reflecting on COVID-19's impact on merchants worldwide, Hutchinson stated that numerous small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) entered the digital sphere to survive. When lockdowns end, JudoAccept can help merchants and customers maintain social distancing and avoid tapping cards or touching PIN pads, while transacting in multiple payment methods, he noted. "JudoAccept enables a staff member to display a QR code on their own tablet or smartphone, which is then scanned by the customer using the camera on their own phone, instigating the payment." Hutchinson said. "It works with a wide range of built-in alternative payment methods including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, PayPal and more." Hutchinson acknowledged that keeping customers safe in physical stores, increasing traffic and offering the right payment methods will continue to be essential to SMEs, but achieving these priorities will be a struggle as they recover from recent economic setbacks. He feels that JudoAccept, a cost-effective solution, will help drive economic recovery throughout the business community.
Hutchinson further noted that the JudoPortal provides a single-access view of payment transaction data, business insights and analysis. The customizable portal provides insights into payment trends and customer payment preferences and automatically segments a customer database. Merchants can use this knowledge to tailor and optimize payment processing for their customers, he added.
Transaction data can also help merchants identify areas in need of improvement while providing insights into payment card approvals and declines, Hutchinson stated, noting that merchants can generate a series of customized reports and analysis from this data and establish additional usernames and logins to share JudoPortal access with team members.
"We make it quick and easy to get started and we deliver world-level security, analysis and support," Hutchinson said. "All of which means you can focus on winning new customers and driving loyalty with existing ones."
Changing existing payment systems can be time consuming, expensive and resource draining. By contrast, Hutchinson pointed out, JudoAccept requires no integration. "One of the reasons we’ve built JudoAccept the way it is, is because it requires zero integration work," he said. "It's quick and easy to set up and enables merchants to log in to their accounts via a web browser on their phone to start accepting payments."
Merchants can fully integrate the product and incorporate payment QR codes into their existing proprietary ePOS solutions, Hutchinson said. With growth in online payments expected to continue in the post-COVID marketplace, it makes sense for businesses to reduce costs and unify their data wherever possible. All models of JudoAccept offer a unified commerce solution that incorporates online and offline data without the need to use multiple payment platforms, he added.
