Epson, a global technology force, launched a new generation of teller devices devised to modernize branch banking. The multifunctional TM-S2000II-NW and TM-S9000II-NW, equipped with advanced ethernet connectivity, LCD panels and optional printers, are designed for agility, convenience and ease of use for tellers and bank customers, company representatives stated. Rahn Rampton, product manager for Epson America Inc., pointed out that the latest additions to Epson's line of intelligent teller devices eliminate the need for financial institutions to choose between Ethernet or USB, because the TM-S2000II-NW and TM-S9000II-NW offer both.
"The LCD display provides a simplified user experience that makes it easy to use and combines the most advanced tools for tellers to provide the best customer service possible," he said. "These new models underscore Epson's commitment to providing solutions that best serve financial institutions' needs—today and into the future."
To meet growing demand for network-enabled devices, Epson's high-speed, Ethernet-enabled, teller devices include USB 2.0 connectivity, Rampton stated, noting the only difference between the two models is the integrated high-speed printer in the TM-S9000II-NW. These networked multifunctional devices leverage Ethernet and USB connectivity, he added, to help financial institutions futureproof device fleet management and deployment.
Rampton went on to say that in addition to being able to quickly scan checks and ID cards, both models can easily connect to a financial institution's network to process checks, using the latest networked software applications. In addition, the TM-S2000II-NW and TM-S9000II-NW include Web API to facilitate thin-client and zero-client deployments without using a PC.
Epson representatives described the TM-S2000II-NW and TM-S9000II-NW as high-performance devices that provide the fastest scan speeds in their class, with USB scanning speed of up to 225 dots per millimeter (dpm) and networked scanning speed of up to 200 checks per minute. They noted the devices are also equipped with two-sided ID scanning, which enables them to easily capture color ID cards. They additionally cited the following additional capabilities:
The company noted the TM-S2000II-NW and TM-S9000II-NW are available through Epson Authorized Partners, and financial institutions can order them through their existing software or installation partners. The models come with a two-year limited warranty, with options to purchase Epson Preferred Plus extended service plans for up to five years of continuous coverage. Multiple warranty options are consistent with Epson's philosophy of enabling customers to purchase any kind of warranty they want, from a standard two-year warranty to upgraded five-year warranty or anything in between, Epson representatives stated.
Reflecting on a brand heritage of efficient, compact and precise innovation, Epson representatives said the company provides a growing line of innovative solutions for home and office printing, commercial and industrial printing, manufacturing, and visual and lifestyle applications. Epson's goal, they added, is to become carbon negative; to that end, the company resolved to eliminate the use of exhaustible underground resources, such as oil and metal, by 2050.
