HNC
Financial Solutions is offering Capstone Decision Manager for automating
the enrollment of buyers and sellers into business-to-business (B2B)
exchanges and enabling B2B credit decisioning in real-time over the
Internet.
“Many
traditional firms are investing heavily in hardware and software to do
more buying and selling via the Internet,” said Bruce Hansen, President
of HNC Financial Solutions. “Some projections indicate that over 80
percent of large corporations will use the Internet for a majority of
their B2B transactions by the end of 2001. That means B2B exchanges will
need to be able to sign up new merchant accounts and make credit decisions
much more quickly than they do today. That’s where HNC can add great
value.”
Capstone
Decision Manager automates registration and credit decisioning processes
on the Web. The system supports on-demand access to the exchange’s own
data repositories and interfaces with business information sources, such
as Dun & Bradstreet and Experian business data. Capstone’s
high-speed processing usually issues approvals or denials within seconds,
and allows for customization according to the business user’s own
criteria and policies.
With
the increasing number of businesses moving purchasing functions to
Internet-based systems, demand for B2B electronic commerce is expected to
mushroom over the next few years. Banc of America Securities estimates
that worldwide B2B e-commerce will grow from less than $20 billion this
year to roughly $13 trillion in 2004.
