Global ecommerce built to your specifications

Product: Drop-in Checkout
Company: Digital River

Digital River Inc., a global commerce enabler, launched Drop-in Checkout, a solution designed to help enterprises streamline ecommerce operations without extensive investment. The platform is ready out of the box or could be customized, company representatives stated.

Andy Carrane, vice president of product management at Digital River, stated that Drop-In Checkout can be implemented with one simple integration that fits into any chosen platform.

"Digital River provides a fully integrated solution to manage the back end of ecommerce and everything after shoppers hit the 'buy' button—payments, tax remittance, compliance, fraud-mitigation and logistics," he said. "We've built an ecosystem of best-in-class partners, including multiple payment processors that route your transactions for the best chance of success."

Mike Penterman, senior vice president, product at Digital River, agreed, stating Digital River wants partners, clients and end-users to have freedom of choice, and Drop-in Checkout is a critical part of that commitment. "Hands-on customization can be a labor-intensive process," he said. "With our solution, brands have access to a low-code solution to create the checkout experience they want, now and into the future, with a minimum investment in time and resources."

Comprehensive ecommerce toolkit

Carrane pointed out that Drop-in Checkout enables organizations to selectively implement feature sets according to their specific requirements and user preferences, and clients can choose to have full control or an off-the-shelf experience. As an integral part of Digital River's technology suite, Drop-in Checkout gives clients the requisite tools to create an ideal customer experience, he said.

Ease of use and low cost of ownership are major benefits of Drop-in Checkout, according to Carrane, who positioned it as an omnichannel upgrade that brings a broad set of product enhancements to the customer journey with no additional labor required. He added that the intuitive, adaptable platform complements Digital River's Global Seller Services, and users can configure it for a range of business models and use cases.

"While such a straightforward, ready-made solution had not been an option in the past, Drop-in Checkout ensures that Digital River can meet its customers at all levels," Carrane said. "Altogether, Drop-in Checkout is a customer-friendly package that maximizes conversions, increases speed to revenue, requires little to no coding and is easy to maintain."

Automatic updates, enhancements

Carrane went on to say that Digital River automatically updates Drop-in Checkout to give channel partners, clients and end-users the best checkout experience possible. Digital River continuously updates, enhances and manages the platform to keep it aligned with the payments, security, compliance, and tax requirements, he stated.

Carrane also mentioned there are no additional costs for existing Digital River customers who add Drop-In Checkout to their services. The platform works across a variety of trading patterns, whether cross-border, onshore, digital or physical, B2B or B2C. Additionally, he noted, the platform enables new payment options and helps users stay up to date with evolving security compliance, tax regulations, shipping integrations and localization trends.

In addition to giving brands the ability to enable new payments options with turnkey support for all checkout functions, Drop-in Checkout delivers international transaction and data compliance, dynamic payment and language localization, and easily customizable checkout styles, Carrane stated. All of these capabilities are available immediately, he said, with no added costs and with little to no coding required.

Summarizing Drop-in Checkout as a cost-effective way to futureproof the checkout experience, Carrane said the solution and extended Digital River technology suite allow brands to control their customer experience with as much or as little customization as they want. "Whether brands are looking for a turnkey, rapid deployment option, or a more bespoke, hands-on integration, Digital River offers brands the flexibility to meet their needs," he said. end of article
