Boost authorizations, merchant revenue with AI routing

Global payments provider Worldline launched a next-generation, AI-powered payment routing solution designed to help businesses increase authorization rates and reduce costs, without lifting a finger. Building on the success of its existing rules-based routing platform, the new dual-layered system combines machine learning and predefined rules to select the most efficient payment paths in real time, Worldline stated.

Following successful pilot programs, Worldline reported that customers using the enhanced solution saw authorization rates increase by over 2 percent on top of the 3 percent uplift already delivered by its existing rules-based approach. In one case, the company noted, a merchant added €1.63 million ($1.89 million) in revenue thanks to more efficient routing alone.

"At Worldline, we view payments as a growth driver for businesses," said Khalil Kammoun, head of shared services at Worldline. "With AI-driven routing, we're enhancing authorization rates through smarter decision-making and unlocking new revenue for our customers."
