              mpact PaySystem, a payment processing company, launched Impact Apprentice, an online university for merchant
              level salespeople (MLSs). The program is designed to help new entrants and payments industry veterans obtain
              fundamental knowledge of payment processing and numerous merchant options in technologies, products and
        I services,  the company stated.  Here to speak  with us  today is Maya Karawadra, Marketing Manager at Impact
        PaySystem, for whom merchant services is more than just a profession; it’s a bred-in-the-bone family business. Maya
        shares her personal Impact Apprentice journey in this exclusive Green Sheet interview.

        How have your ideas about merchant services changed since you enrolled in Impact Apprentice?

        had no idea what it really was until I started working as a server at a restaurant in College. When I got the opportunity
        to work in my family business my parents made me take all the courses we offer to our sales partners. I am working in

        The course formats were easy to do and I actually enjoyed them. I could do as little as I wanted or as much as time

        I really enjoyed learning the inner workings of processing. From prospecting to getting an account live and processing

        Following your enrollment, which areas will you focus on in your career?
        It may be too early to tell. There is so much opportunity in the payment industry and I am just now discovering this. I

        am glad to have this discovery early in my career. My focus now is on marketing our products and services. What really
        excites me is new technology and introducing that to our merchants and sales team. Perhaps in the future I will get more
        involved in the development of this technology.

        I have gone back to watch content from previous courses as I take on projects at Impact. I am sure I will continue to use it
        as a resource as I take on more projects.
