Reduce ACH risk while streamlining digital payments

CrossCheck Inc. introduced an enhanced version of its Pay-by-Link platform designed to help merchants reduce payment friction, lower processing costs and minimize ACH risk exposure through guaranteed payments.

The solution enables merchants to send secure payment links to customers through text or email, allowing consumers to complete bank-based payments digitally without manually entering routing or account numbers. Powered through an integration with Plaid, the platform lets customers securely authenticate with their financial institutions and complete transactions through a mobile-first workflow intended to resemble modern fintech payment experiences.

CrossCheck said the product is aimed at businesses seeking alternatives to rising card processing costs while still maintaining payment security and transaction reliability. The company positioned the platform as particularly useful for higher-ticket and repeat-payment environments such as auto dealerships, automotive repair, veterinary services, home improvement providers and furniture retailers.

Proprietary payment guarantee

Unlike standard ACH payment flows that can expose merchants to returned payments and delayed settlement uncertainty, CrossCheck said its platform combines real-time account authentication with the company's proprietary payment guarantee capabilities. Approved transactions are guaranteed by CrossCheck, which assumes liability for qualifying returned or disputed payments.

"This is a major evolution for CrossCheck," Tiffany Lucas, senior vice president of product development, said in a statement announcing the platform enhancement. "We have taken the simplicity and convenience customers expect from modern fintech experiences … and paired it with the protection merchants rely on from us."

The platform also includes branded invoice support, transaction tracking and real-time validation tools intended to help merchants streamline billing and improve payment visibility. According to the company, simplifying the payment experience may help businesses improve conversion rates while supporting customer loyalty and repeat business.

CrossCheck's rollout comes as growing numbers of payment providers are expanding pay-by-bank and guaranteed ACH capabilities in response to merchant demand for lower-cost digital payment alternatives and faster account-to-account transactions.

Industry interest in guaranteed ACH and open banking-enabled payment flows has accelerated as businesses seek to reduce interchange costs while maintaining secure, frictionless customer experiences. To learn more, please visit www.cross-check.com. End of Story
